Tyler had a difficult time with his botox injections last week so he was not able to get the ones for hs jaw.
Samantha has been going through all of her prep work for the surgery next week(20th). The surgery (Deep Brain Stimulation) is about an eight to ten hour brain surgery and she needs to be awake during the surgery so that they can tell if they are in the correct location and have her move to see if the pulling can improve. We are all getting a little nervous about the surgery but Samantha wants to hurry up and get it done and try to get some relief. Dr. Kelly Foote and Dr. Michael Okun are the best so we feel it is in their hands to make the good stuff happen to Sammy now. No pressure fellas.
Yesterday we had a hat party for Samantha because she will shave her head a few days before surgery. The party was incredible. Her Godfather and family built a huge hat that the klids jumped out of for her. A lot of her close friends and supporters were there. Mandee O'Leary came and brough Samantha an authentic Gator Women's lacrosse team hat. (We will be taking Sammy out to practice today to meet the ladies). Everyone brought different types of hats and she got two wigs. She was completely suprised. I told her I was taking her to brunch for our father daughter date and when we showed up everyone was in a room to suprise her.
Luke continues to go 100 mph all of the time. He fell on some stairs and rammed his head into a step this past weekend. He has a huge brusie on his forehead and we checked the stairs to make sure the stairs were ok.
Tyler's Hope held a meeting with the admistration at the University of Florida last week and promised 1 million dollars towards a partnership and joint effort to recruit the best researchers and find a cure for dyt1 dystonia at UF. Hopefully we will announce a new program with the top researcher that we have been courting within the next month.
2010 is going to be big and we must continue to have urgency in pur quest for a cure. Send money and we will find it.
